Hi! Thank you for this incredible site. I would love the ability to subscribe to the SIFT Open House calendar (not just receive email notifications). Comparing it to the MySchools calendar, your website sweeper is finding far more events!
I am also wondering if there’s way to have parents send your calendar events that your aggregator has not picked up. I know this would be challenging to automate (maybe a google form that cites the source page?), but I have three open houses that SIFT and MySchools have both overlooked.
How did you imagine a subscription service to the OH calendar would work, and how would it be different from the email notifications?
I will figure out a way to allow users to submit missing events. For now, you can just post them on this message board and I’ll add them after verifying.
I just added a google form on the events page that will allow you to submit open houses that do not appear on the site. It’s the calendar+ icon on the right hand side next to the email icon.
subscription=I can add it to my iCal and the events will show up on their various dates. Also, my understanding was that emails only went out once a week? Maybe I’m wrong about that
I just added a calendar subscription option on the “Favorites” page. Clicking on the calendar icon (on the right hand side) will open up a new window with a URL for you to subscribe to.
Please note that you will only be subscribed to OH events that you favorited at that time. If you add or remove favorites, you should open the window again and it will create a new URL for you to subscribe to.
I’ve only been able to test it on Google Calendar so far. Let me know if you see any issues!
