Updated estimated cutoffs and offer prediction model

There’s a new improved version of the offer prediction model that shows up on school and program pages after you fill in your DOE-defined student information (seat group, Ed. Opt. category, lottery number, etc.) through the “My Info” link. You can find this link on every school or program page under the school’s basic address information (below the “Show commute” link). “My Info” also appears on the top-right side of “Favorites” page.

Once you’ve filled in this information, NYC-SIFT will show estimated cutoff ranges for every program and display them under the “Student & Admissions Statistics” section. Please note that cutoff ranges only show up for programs with “Open”, “Screened”, or “Ed. Opt.” admissions.

Below the cutoff ranges is a new prediction model that will display a colored bar that shows the likelihood of receiving an offer based on the cutoff ranges and your DOE information. The colorations are skewed conservatively, so the largest area is yellow.

A basic rule to follow is that any program whose offer value falls within the green and yellow zones should be considered as a valid choice on applications.

This has been further modified to only show up for programs that had at least 100 applicants.
